Accessories Case Gitxsan Hand
This Gitxsan Hand Accessories Case carries a deeply meaningful design created by Gitxsan artist Michelle Stoney. The hand motif was inspired by local high school teachers seeking a way to honour survivors, and Michelle’s artwork reflects layers of cultural significance and remembrance. In the palm sits Stigyoden, the local mountain of the Gitxsan Nation in Northern British Columbia. Surrounding it are majagalee—flowers whose name also means children—symbolizing growth, innocence, and community. The feathers forming the fingers honour the children who never made it home, creating a powerful tribute woven into a gentle, everyday accessory.
Made from soft, padded neoprene, this case protects eyeglasses, pens, chargers, cables, and other small essentials. Its zipper closure makes it easy to use, and the 20cm x 9cm x 1.5cm size is perfect for daily organization while carrying a message of remembrance, resilience, and cultural strength.
