Amanda Presents A Dreamcatcher Workshop

DATE & TIME: Sunday February 16th  12pm-2pm & 2pm-4pm  approximately 1.5 hours

INVESTMENT: $30 per person (ages 8+)+hst

A great activity to start the new year and a great way to celebrate family day! Kids and Teens & families  will create their own dream catcher while learning the lessons of the materials, talking dreams and by setting intentions for their sleep and dreams. They will hang their new dream catcher in their bedroom window (or according to their own tradition) to support their dreaming in alignment with their intentions: protection, joy, love, etc.

Lessons and materials used are in the traditional Arawak Amerindian Indigenous perspective. Using tibisiri straw (from the ite palm, known as the tree of life), lucky seeds (bright red and black seeds from the local Savannah tree) and 'buck' beads (grey seeds from brush plants) as traditional materials. If you have a special bead, feather, etc to add please be sure to bring it with you to be worked into your creation.

This project will be completed in our workshop room with Amanda within an hour. Kits are prepared for Easy and Advanced levels.

$5 from the proceeds of each participant will go to the surviving Women Elders of Pakuri, who taught Amanda handicraft while she lived there. The above-mentioned materials are sourced directly from the village at fair market value.

Please note: Guardian should be present to support child.
