Designed by Odawa-Pottawatomi artist James Jacko, this Turtle charm necklace holds deep spiritual meaning within its intricate design. In Indigenous culture, the Turtle is revered as a sacred symbol, often carrying the colors of the medicine wheel—black, red, yellow, and white. Each color represents a fundamental element that varies by tribe, such as directions, stages of life, or interconnected elements of nature and spirit. The seven circles etched into the Turtle’s shell signify the Seven Teachings, essential values passed through generations that guide life within the community. Each circle encloses a bird, a messenger that carries the Creator’s teachings. Crafted from die-casted zinc alloy, each 3 cm x 3 cm pendant is accompanied by an 18-inch chain with a 2-inch extension, making it versatile and easy to wear. Engraved on the back of each piece is the artist's signature, authenticating this meaningful creation and connecting the wearer to the spirit of its origin.
