Benefits of Sungazing

In these lazy hazy summer days, you may not always feel like getting out and beating the heat.  Especially with the summer heat we have experienced lately.  However if you are missing the outdoors and want to get outside, while avoiding the hottest hours of the day, you might want to consider a wonderful evening activity: Sungazing!


So what is Sungazing?  Sungazing is exactly as it sounds.  Gazing at the sun.  Grandfather Sun is such a wealth of knowledge, growth, renewal and healing that he is often overlooked as an abundant source of healing. Some of the health benefits of sungazing are: enhanced mood and energy, boosts immune system, increases melatonin and serotonin, improves quality of sleep, decalcifies the pineal gland, increases psychic abilities/ intuition and activates DNA.   With so many benefits, take advantage now, while it's still nice enough to sit outside and enjoy!  


How do you sungaze?  Even though sungazing is easy, it doesn't mean you simply stare into the sun. That is not a good idea and could damage your eyes.  Sungazing should be done within 30 minutes of sunrise, or the last 30 minutes before the sun goes down.  Some even say 60 minutes; however, I like to play it safe.  All you do, is simply gaze softly at the sun.  It is even beneficial to think of beautiful calming thoughts, or you can even picture yourself inside the sun, being healed with his warmth and renewal. You could even picture the sun burning off any negative energies with in your body, and spirit. Do what feels right to you.  So, give it a try!  You've got nothing to lose, and only health to gain!
